Culture and recreation
Munich - A feast for the senses
When it comes to art, culture, fashion, shopping, recreation and sightseeing, Munich is the most attractive city in Germany. The English Garden, the Botanical Gardens and the Olympic Park attract thousands of visitors every day.
Other important historical sites like the "Residenz" and Nymphenburg Castle are located in the middle of town.

Munich also tops the list in international comparisons. It offers its guests an atmosphere characterized by a unique combination of tolerance, joie de vivre and vitality - factors that create a great deal of synergy for any exhibition.

The Oktoberfest - Munich's "fifth season"
For two weeks out of every year, it is the dream destination for visitors from around the world: the Munich Oktoberfest.

The Oktoberfest traditionally begins with the Parade of Oktoberfest Landlords and Breweries. Then the Lord Mayor of Munich taps the first keg of beer, officially opening the Oktoberfest with the words "O-zapft is". Additional information about the Oktoberfest is available at the official website of the City of Munich.
